TORTURE - Years in Turmoil :marseysoldieramerica: :marseysoldierrussia: :marseyvietnam:

Hello once again /h/music, i have been excited to make this post for a while and we are finally here, if you aren't necessarily a fan of the US government/military then boy do i have the band for you. Straight from Chicago USA, we have the one man anti war, anti politician, anti government slam/gore/noise MACHINE, the monolithic… TORTURE.

As mentioned before, TORTURE's music and message are much the same, to illuminate and spread awareness of the brutality of US war crimes spanning across the globe, )specifically during the iran/iraq conflicts/invasion, the afghanistan war, and several more specific incidents of US war crimes that i will be going over in later posts) and their propensity to be covered up by the government and certain governmental agencies. TORTURE was founded semi-recently, and yet their discography spans out across multiple themes, genres and meanings. Started in 2022, their first records were easily recognizable as goregrind, closely reminiscent to bands like last days of humanity, and metrorrhagia. Over time however TORTURE managed to settle on a sound that would propel their name out further than it had before, and that came with the featured album of this post, Enduring Freedom.

Operation: Enduring Freedom (OEF) was the name used by the US government for the war in afghanistan immediately following the September 11th attacks on the world trade center and pentagon. On October 7th 2001, President George W. Bush announced that air strikes on suspected taliban/al-quaeda had begun in afghanistan, thus beginning one of the bloodiest periods of conflict in world history, the “war on terror” which still continues today, and was the precedent to many gruesome acts of war crime, as highlighted by TORTURE in several other releases.

Attached below is a link to a wikipedia article in reference to civilian casualties as a result of US intervention during OEF.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilian_casualties_in_the_war_in_Afghanistan_(2001%E2%80%932021)#:~:text=Civilian%2520casualties%2520(2001%E2%80%932003),-See%2520also%253A%2520List&text=According%2520to%2520Marc%2520W.,%252C%2520and%2520June%25203%252C%25202003.

The message this band delivers may be hard to hear for some, but it is a necessary reminder that the people put in charge of us may not necessarily have our best interests at heart. Since its creation, TORTURE has always been simply known (at least to me) as

K.K. - All Instruments.

This metal man is the beastly gurgles, the crushing, megalithic slams and the machine gun blast of drums you are currently listening to, only surpassed in heaviness by the grief that all americans feel for those murdered overseas.

I plan on posting some more of TORTURE'S stuff in the future as there is just too much real world lore behind his music, and that wiki article lowkey ate my file space on this post.

Do you guys like TORTURE? What about war crimes? Let me know!!!

Brodequin - Strappado :marseyguillotine: :marseybeefcake: :marseyguillotine:

Back again with another mesh of noise for you all to enjoy, this time coming in the form of the wooden and steel mass of sharpened brutal death metal known as Brodequin. Formed in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1998 by brothers Jamie and Mike Bailey, Brodequins music is just as brutal and gruesome as their subject matter. If you're familiar with medieval torture methods, their name should be a dead giveaway in regards to the subject matter displayed in their music, as all of brodequins subject matter is tied intrinsically to medieval torture methods and themes of that effect. From the virgin of nuremberg to the duke of exeter, this band is packed full of references to a brutal, violent time long forgotten by modern man. The featured track, Strappado itself is a method of torture once used in the 1500's and onward, slowly phasing out over time. The following is an excerpt from wikipedia about the Strappado -

The strappado, also known as corda,is a form of torture in which the victim's hands are tied behind their back and the victim is suspended by a rope attached to the wrists, typically resulting in dislocated shoulders. Weights may be added to the body to intensify the effect and increase the pain. This kind of torture would generally not last more than an hour without rest, as it would otherwise likely result in death.

Other names for strappado include "reverse hanging", "Palestinian hanging" and il tormento della corda.

Artistic renditions of the strappado.

Even the bands name itself, “Brodequin” was also a medieval method of torture. Here is another excerpt from wiki in regards to its use -

The victim would be secured to on a stout bench in a sitting position. His bare legs were sandwiched within a set of three strong, narrow vertical boards, outside each leg and between, the lot tightly bound together with strong rope. Wedges of wood were introduced into any available gaps and slowly pounded down with a mallet, squeezing the legs with enough pressure to shatter bones and leak both blood and marrow. For so-called ordinary offenses, the torture was conducted with four wedges, while eight wedges tortured the legs of extreme felons.

Some artistic renditions of the Brodequin in use.

This crushing unit of sound has been dominating the death metal scene since its inception, garnering controversy occasionally from within the community at times for their non traditional logo, Brodequin is sure to put to rest any doubts about their ability to display brutality and violence through music once they begin to play.

backstory

I found a tiny mouse that was ran over months ago and never told a soul until now.

I couldnt stand to leave it there.

I put it inside a plastic shopping bag and brought it home to bury it back into nature to grow into pretty flowers and eventually back into a bird perhaps to watch over us.

I have been leaving it water, popcorn and sourpatch kids and sitting with it sometimes @ night.

Before you say anything, I know i know, thats not really healthy for the tiny thing to eat, but i am trying my best everyday.

CHILD WARNING Syphilic - Empty Nest :jeus: :marseywhirlyhat: :marseyjam:

Child Warning added due to graphic cover art. :marseywhirlyhat:

Hello once again snuff freaks, i am back with another lethal dose of metal for you, this time in the form of the legendary one man brutal death metal ASSAULT, Syphilic. Founded in Detroit USA in 2005, Syphilic has been putting out harsh, phrenetic and near incomprehensible brutal death metal since his first record, “Erotishock Therapy”. Known for his extremely shocking and offensive album cover art, (almost exclusively drawn by the legendary Tony Cosgrove) Syphilics subject matter covers a wide array of all things shocking and taboo. From outright murder/torture to anti-political themes, anti religion and in this case (and some others) true crime cases.

On June 20th 2001 Andrea Pia Yates drowned her five children, John, Paul, Luke, Noah and Mary Yates in their home bathtub in Houston Tx. Yates started with John, Paul, and Luke, and then laid them in her bed. She then drowned Mary, whom she left floating in the tub. Noah came in and asked what was wrong with Mary. He then ran, but Yates soon caught and drowned him. She left him floating in the tub, and laid Mary in John's arms in the bed. She then called the police, repeatedly saying she needed an officer but refusing to say why. She then called her husband Rusty and told him to come home right away. Yates was tried for the murders of her children, but was found not guilty by reason of insanity on July 26th, 2006.

1. Andrea Yates' mugshot. 2. Andrea Yates at her trial.

The featured album, its art and the subject matter on almost every song is a direct or easily derivable reference to the Andrea Yates case, and the sound of the album matches the tone of that case just as well in my opinion. With harsh, crushing and at times outright confusing song layouts, this one will require multiple listens for those with untrained ears to truly appreciate the musicality of it all. Since its inception, Syphilic is, and has only been…

Brian Forgue - All Instruments

Forgue was arrested and sentenced in 2010 for DUI, possession of cannabis and violating parole multiple times. He wrote most of the Behind Bars album during his incarceration.

Here is some of Syphilic's more tame album art.

1. Cover to “A Composition of Murder” (Full length) 2. Cover to his recent album, “…And Justice for None” (Full Length) 3. Cover to the Syphilic/Nithing split, which is a drawn rendition of the Bever Family murders, carried out by brothers Michael and Robert Bever on their own family. 4. The cover art for the featured album, “Empty Nest”. Featuring a drawn rendition of the Yates murders. 5. Syphilic in action.

Thanks for looking and listening!! This controversial band has been a staple of my listening for a long time now and im eager to see what you all think about the music!! if you go looking for his other album covers domt come crying to me if you see something you dont want to!!! :marseynope: :marseyoutline:
