LYNCHBURG, Va. — A Lynchburg man is in custody after police say two people were shot at a Waffle House earlier Sunday morning, according to video and reports.

Lynchburg Police said at 2:58 a.m., officers responded to the Waffle House on Wards Road in reference to a large fight. As officers were en route, 911 calls came in about shots being fired during the incident. When officers arrived on the scene, they found two people with gunshot wounds inside the Waffle House. LPD officers provided aid until medics arrived.

The suspect, identified as Omarian Fitch, drove away in what is believed to be a black Nissan sedan. According to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail, Fitch is only 21 years old.

At approximately 5:00 p.m., LPD officers saw Fitch getting into a vehicle. The officers then chased the car through several city streets, according to LPD. Eventually, police said the car crashed at the intersection of Old Mill Road and McConville Road. Fitch got out of the car and ran away on foot but was caught shortly after.

According to LPD, both victims, a 30-year-old man and a 74-year-old woman, are in stable condition. Both individuals are currently being treated at the Lynchburg General Hospital.

The homeless woman let her head injury go to the extreme. She got an infection, and flesh-eating worms got into her. They literally ate a piece of her brain and blew a hole in her head. That's how she ended up in the hospital. Her fate is unknown, but she probably died.

SANTA MARIA, BRAZIL – AUGUST 12, 2017

A 28-year-old man was attacked at a gas station by three men armed with machetes. The attack was primarily to his face and head. They left him there to die slowly with his head destroyed and ran away.

Attackers:

They did not run far and were apprehended just a few blocks from the gas station where the attack occurred. All three were brothers. They confessed to the crime and cited revenge as their motive. The man is said to have physically assaulted their father.

Although the victim received immediate first aid, he died shortly after the attack. You can also see a photo from his funeral in the gallery. A truly professional job was done on his body to make him look normal at the funeral.

In January 2012, this video was posted to many websites (YouTube TMZ and other), it caused outrage in the Middle East and Afghanistan,

content on the video: The video shows four men dressed in full U.S. Marine combat gear laughing and joking as they urinate on what appear to be dead men somewhere in a rural part of Afghanistan. News sources describe the dead men as Taliban insurgents. There is a wheelbarrow next to them and the scene appears as rural farming area. One of the bodies is covered in blood and the Marine can be heard joking "Have a great day, buddy", "Golden like a shower" and "Yeahhhh!".

Circumstances: Subsequent investigation would reveal that the incident took place around July 27, 2011 during a counter-insurgency operation near Sandala, Musa Qala District in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, a Taliban stronghold and a center of opium poppy production that was the scene of tough fighting at the time.

The urinating Marines were from the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines based at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. Of the roughly 1,000 Marines in the battalion, seven were killed during the unit's seven-month deployment in the area.

Investigation, perpetrators, and punishment: After the video's release, the Marine Corps launched internal and criminal investigations. LtGen Steven A. Hummer conducted the internal investigation, while the Naval Criminal Investigation Service handled the criminal one. Desecrating bodies is a crime under U.S. military law and the Geneva Conventions. Initially, Lt. Gen Thomas Waldhauser was tasked with deciding on discipline, but due to concerns about influence, he was replaced by Lt. Gen. Richard P. Mills. Three Marines involved received administrative punishments, impacting their future prospects. Staff Sergeants Joseph W. Chamblin and Edward W. Deptola were charged for various offenses related to the incident, with both being referred to a Special Court Martial. They pled guilty and received reduced ranks as part of their sentences. Chamblin later wrote a book detailing his perspective on the events.

Effects of the video: The video caused outrage in Afghanistan, the Middle East and across the world. An Afghan soldier who shot dead four French troops in Afghanistan and wounded another eight seriously in a fragging incident said that he did it because of the American Marines who urinated on bodies in the video. The released video eroded, along with the burning of the Muslim holy book Quran by US troops and Panjwai shooting spree, relations between the United States and Afghanistan, has seriously damaged the image of American troops before the Afghan public, and was according to the Taliban one of their reasons for their April 2012 Afghanistan attacks
