The Murder of Deputy Kyle Dinkheller, Jan. 12, 1998

On Monday, Jan. 12, 1998, deputy Kyle Dinkheller (1975-1998) pulled over Andrew Howard Brannan (1948-2015) for going 98mph (157km/h). Dinkheller instructed Brannan to take his hands out of his pockets, however Brannan did not do so, taunting Dinkheller to "shoot him". Despite commands specifically not to, Brannan opened his truck and pulled out an M1 Carbine.

Once seeing this, Dinkheller shot a "warning shot" (disputed) and repeatedly told Brannan to put the gun down. Brannan ran towards Dinkheller, and began to fire. The fatal shot was from point blank range, into Dinkheller's eye. He then retreated into his truck and fleed the scene.

17 years & 1 day later, on January 13, 2015, Brannan was executed via Lethal injection.

EDIT: FIXED DATES, BRENNAN'S CAUSE OF DEATH

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - The man accused of murdering a store clerk in Tupelo appeared before a judge for the first time Tuesday morning.

Chris Copeland, 26, of Tupelo, is charged with capital murder, meaning he’s eligible for the death penalty.

Tupelo police said Copeland tried to rob a Chevron store Sunday morning, Sept. 11. During the attempted robbery, he allegedly shot Parmvir Singh, 33, of Tupelo, in the head.

During his court appearance, investigators said Copeland pretended to make a purchase and Singh was behind the counter.

Police said Singh surrendered some money and opened a safe for Copeland. Copeland then ordered Singh to the floor, jumped over the counter, then shot the victim, according to authorities.

Copeland ripped out what he believed to be surveillance footage and left the store, police said.

“With 27 years in law enforcement, this may be one of the worst ones I’ve ever seen,” Police Chief John Quaka said. “The victim was literally executed in the back of the head inside his store where he was trying to make a living. It is just absolutely outrageous. The prosecutor said it best — ‘it’s monstrous.’”

Copeland was denied a bond.

Quaka said Copeland has a criminal history. He previously faced burglary and larceny charges. Copeland was free on MDOC probation at the time of his arrest on Sunday and had an outstanding warrant.

THIS IS NOT MY WRITE UP!! The rest is! :marseyheart:

On April 16, 2017, 74-year-old Robert Lee Godwin Sr. (September 7, 1942 – April 16, 2017) was shot and killed with a firearm while walking in the Glenville neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio, United States. The perpetrator, identified as 37-year-old Steve Stephens, posted a cellphone video of the shooting on his Facebook account, leading many media outlets, both during the manhunt and afterward, to dub Stephens the "Facebook killer". A warrant was issued for Stephens for aggravated murder. Two days later, he died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound when cornered by police in Erie County, Pennsylvania.

The shooting happened at around 2:00 p.m. EDT on April 16, 2017 (Easter Sunday), in the 600 block of East 93rd Street in Cleveland's Glenville neighborhood. Stephens uploaded a video of the event. Seconds before the shooting, Stephens exited his car, approached the victim and then asked Godwin to say the name of a woman with whom Stephens had been in a romantic relationship. Stephens then said "She's the reason why this is about to happen to you", before fatally shooting Godwin, who fell to the ground after he was shot. Facebook said the video was uploaded to the website after the fact, not livestreamed as initially reported. In other Facebook posts, Stephens claimed responsibility for 13 murders, but police said they were not aware of any other victims.

A search for Stephens began soon after the shooting, prompting lockdowns at a number of locations, including Cleveland State University. Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams told reporters that detectives talked with Stephens by cellphone shortly after the shooting, but had no further contact with him since that time. The manhunt expanded to other states on the morning of April 17. Residents in Pennsylvania, New York, Indiana, and Michigan were asked to be on alert, and a US$50,000 reward was offered for information leading to Stephens' arrest on a charge of aggravated murder. The FBI also aided the Cleveland Police Department.

At 11:10 a.m. on April 18, Stephens pulled into the drive-through lane of a McDonald's restaurant in Harborcreek Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania, 100 miles (160 km) from the location of the shooting. An employee recognized Stephens from news reports and, after verifying with fellow employees, provided Stephens with part of his order, but stalled him by stating that his fries were still cooking. During this time police were called to the restaurant. Stephens, wary, left without his fries.

As Stephens pulled out of the restaurant, state police gave chase heading westbound through Wesleyville, Pennsylvania. Stephens made it to the corner of Buffalo Road and Downing Avenue in the city of Erie, where Pennsylvania State Police successfully executed a tactical maneuver to bring the car to a stop. As police approached Stephens' car, he shot himself in the head and died instantly.

CHILD WARNING Kid Paralyzed By Gunshots (CW) (edited)2022

15-Year-Old Boy Arrested in Shooting of 9-Year-Old Girl in Woodbridge: Police

A 15-year-old boy was arrested Thursday in the shooting of a 9-year-old girl Tuesday in Woodbridge, Virginia, police said.

The girl was not the intended target and was flown to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

The child was still in critical condition as of Wednesday morning, Prince William County police said.

Officers were called to the 15300 block of Gatehouse Terrace at about 6:45 p.m. for reports of a shooting. On scene they found a young girl suffering from a gunshot wound, Prince William County police said.

Authorities believe the victim was outside, playing with friends, when a group of four young men fired at someone in a car and struck the child instead.

Police spoke with the driver, who they said was the intended target of the shooting. They said they were looking for multiple people seen by witnesses fleeing the block after the gunfire and examining any doorbell cameras for photos and video.

Gunshots also struck an occupied vehicle and the front door of a home.

Chief of Police Pete Newsham called the actions of the shooter unacceptable.

“Some fools get out there, decide they want to settle a dispute with a gun. Next thing you know, you’ve got your child in a hospital, in surgery with a bullet wound. Just ridiculous,” he said.

different angle

From what I read tall guy in blue shirt is named Chad Read, short guy in black shirt with gun's name is Kyle Carruth. Chad came to his ex-girlfriend's house to pick up his son, but got into a dispute with Kyle. The argument led to Kyle entering his home and coming out with a Ruger PC Carbine. They argue even more, and Chad threatens to take the gun from Kyle and shoot him with it. Kyle fires a warning shot into the ground (stupid move btw) but Chad was not intimidated by it. He tries to grab the gun from Kyle's hand, but fails, Kyle then steps away and shoots Chad twice. Chad immediately dropped to the ground, so I assume the at least one of the shots hit him in the head or spine.

Edit: I forgot to mention, but from what I heard the gun used had a suppressor, which is why everyone wasn't freaking out as much when the warning shot was fired, they apparently thought it was an air gun.

CHILD WARNING EFFORTPOST The Brutal Killing of Joaquín, an 11 year old Boy from Ecuador [CW]

The Brutal Killing of Joaquín, an 11-Year-Old Boy

September 7, 2023 - Thursday, 11:50 AM

Guayaquil, Ecuador

A group of armed men arrived in two cars and four motorbikes at a repair shop looking to assassinate a rival. They immediately and indiscriminately - using rifles and pistols - opened fire at a group of people standing by the shop. Some managed to take cover inside the houses and shops nearby but many were caught in the crossfire.

Two men and one child died instantly at the scene. The fourth victim died at a hospital. Six were injured, including two young girls.

The target was a man (with a criminal record) who lived 3 houses from the shop, and actually survived the shooting by hiding in the trunk of a car. That's right, the sicarios couldn't even get the address right. The man had been living in that neighborhood for at least 6 years and while people heard he had some criminal history, they didn't consider him a threat.

After the incident, the local police chased after the criminals. Some residents of the 'Ciudad Perdida' and 'Mosquito' sectors even assisted the criminals by placing logs with nails on the streets to prevent police work. One of them fell from his motorbike during the chase and was arrested, but the rest eventually managed to escape on a boat that was waiting for them in Estero Salado (a estuary).

Full video of the shooting:

Who was Joaquín?

Joaquín was an 11-year-old boy, who according to his grandma was "a restless but loving boy". He loved to stay just outside the house next to the shop socializing. He was on the fifth year of Basic Education (Ecuadoran education system).

Joaquín's was the youngest and the only boy of a family of 5 children and a single mom. Three of his older sisters have mental disabilities, and his mother Maria, was hoping Joaquin was going to eventually help support the family and his sisters.

The Killing of Joaquín

That morning after returning from school, Joaquin changed out of school uniform and went outside to buy a couple of soda drinks, one for his disabled sister and one for himself. His grandma asked him to stay inside and take a nap but Joaquin refused and went outside to finish his soda.

And just as we has sitting down on the sidewalk, the criminals arrived shooting indiscriminately, Joaquin was immediately struck as he was trying to run away and died instantly. In total, he was shot 37 times 32 from 9mm handguns and 5 from .223 rifles.

Joaquín was waked at the home of his relatives and was buried on September 9, 2023, in a cemetery north of the town.

What his family said after the tragedy

His mother Maria:

Everything has been difficult for me, first it was my eldest daughter, then the next one. The third, thank God, has no problems, but the fourth also suffers from disabilities. With Joaquín's death they took away my hope of giving his sisters a better future.

His grandma Liliana:

He didn't listen to me, he went to the store to buy two 25 cent sodas, one for himself and one for his older sister. Then he sat on the sidewalk and it was just at that moment that this massacre took place that took our child away from us.

His uncle Alex:

My nephew's body was destroyed, his internal organs, his little head, it was heartbreaking, they acted mercilessly, viciously, they didn't care that he was a child, for God's sake. Why so much evil. He was beginning to live.

RIP Little Joaquín
