As a former medic I thought it would be interesting to start a small series on different injuries types. If you enjoy the information & photos consider a upvote & follow for my effort post!
A degloving injury is a type of avulsion in which an extensive section of skin is completely torn off the underlying tissue, severing its blood supply. It is named by analogy to the process of removing a glove.
The causes of degloving can vary, but they often occur when someone's hand or arm gets stuck in a machine or when they are involved in a car crash. Treatment for degloving injuries can vary depending on the severity of the injury, but often includes surgery and skin grafts.
All sorts of events can lead to this type of injury. Car crashes, falls, or getting caught in machinery are all common causes. However, there are also less obvious things that can cause degloving injuries, like contact with chemicals or extreme weather conditions.
Typically, degloving injuries affect the extremities and limbs; in these cases, they are frequently associated with underlying fractures. Any injury which would induce degloving of the head or torso is likely to be lethal. However, controlled facial degloving is often featured in plastic surgery.
Degloving injuries invariably require major surgical interventions. Treatment options include replantation or revascularization of the degloved skins, or when these are not possible, skin grafts or skin flaps. While the preservation of the extremities and limbs is normally preferred, in some cases amputations may be advised or required. Post-operative physiotherapy is of particular importance for degloving injuries involving the hand.
Many small mammals are able to induce degloving of their tails to escape capture; this is comparable to tail autotomy in reptiles.

I had a seizure a few months back, tried going cold turkey after drinking too much. So anyway when I awoke I tried to walk, and fell over. I looked down and my own foot was 180 Degrees!
Ambulance was called, taken to hospital in there for a week, as went into a delusional state, that is another long vivid story. So It is called a Webster B Fracture for all you non med geeks. I broke my fibula, and displaced my Tibia, So I had to have a plate and a few screws as one can see in the image. Four months later all good now, healed fine; as could have been worse. If I hit my head on the toilet I would be on a site like this.

Blount disease is an asymmetrical disorder of proximal tibial growth that produces a three-dimensional deformity. Tibia vara is the main component of the deformity. Blount disease exists as two clinical variants, infantile or early-onset, and adolescent or late-onset, defined based on whether the first manifestations develop before or after 10 years of age. The pathophysiological mechanisms are unclear. In the Americas and Caribbean, Blount disease chiefly affects black obese children. Without treatment, the prognosis is often severe, particularly in the infantile form due to the development of medial tibial epiphysiodesis at about 6 to 8 years of age. In other parts of the world, the associations with black ethnicity and obesity are less obvious and the prognosis is often less severe. A consensus exists about the optimal treatment in two situations: before 4 years of age, progressive Blount disease should be corrected, preferably by a simple osteotomy; and once medial tibial epiphysiodesis has developed, both a complementary epiphysiodesis and gradual external fixator correction of the other alignment abnormalities, rotational deformity, and limb length are required. After 4 years of age, the outcome in the individual patient is difficult to predict. Magnetic resonance imaging supplies information on the morphology and vascularisation of the growth regions, thereby helping to guide treatment decisions. In the adolescent form, morbid obesity limits the treatment options. Untreated Blount disease in adults is rarely encountered. A more common occurrence is the presence of residual abnormalities at skeletal maturity in patients treated for Blount disease in childhood. Premature osteoarthritis may develop. In this situation, osteotomy may delay the need for total knee arthroplasty.

Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva is a connective tissue disorder, in which fibrous connective tissue, like ligaments, tendon and muscle are replaced by bone, causing the patient to stiffen up. This is the only medical condition known to cause one organ to grow into another.
Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva, or FOP, is extremely rare and estimated to affect 0.5 cases per million people. In 2017 there were only 801 cases known worldwide.
The cause of this disorder is a mutation of the gene, ACVR1. It is the body's repair mechanism, making it use bone to repair instead of the normal tissue. This causes joins to fuse and become immovable if even minor trauma occurs.
The new bone formation is called "heterotopic ossification," that new skeleton eventually restricts the patients ability to move, keeping them in a fixed position for the rest of their life.
Even if the excess bone is surgically removed, the body will repair itself with what is refered to as an explosive growth of new bone. There is no cure for this condition.

I had to cut it into 4 Parts, because the original file was quite corrupted and it crashed my editing software countless times...
The new file I created was way too big though and I didn't want to compress it too much, or the video quality would have suffered too much.
Hope you like it! It's a good and interesting watch in my opinion!
