In 2013, David Holmes was killed when a car turned into his path as he zoomed down a road in Norfolk, England. Holmes was traveling about 97 mph at the time of the crash, and the driver of the car he hit admitted to careless driving after saying he didn't see the motorcyclist, the BBC reports.

"I know he rode fast that day. He loved speed, he loved motorbikes," David's mother, Brenda Holmes, said. "I just hope that somebody benefits from it. That motorists slow down and look before they turn..."

A camera on the 38-year-old's helmet captured the accident.
After seeing the footage, Holmes agreed for it to be released to the public. She's now helping lead a road safety campaign along with the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads Police Department to get all riders and motorists to think seriously about driving safe on the road.
"If we can prevent one accident; one family going through what we have been through then David would not have died in vain," Holmes told the BBC.
The head of the local police unit admits releasing the video is controversial, but he also believes it will help save lives.
"There are families on both sides of this who have been involved and the whole point of this video is to stop that happening again," Chief Inspector Chris Spinks told the BBC. "I don't make any apologies for it being hard-hitting because the day and age we're in now we have to up our game in the casualty reduction world to make sure that we get that message across."

Omaha police have identified a woman who died Friday following a nearly head-on crash while driving in the wrong direction on Interstate 680 in west Omaha.
N.S, 40, of Omaha, died at the Creighton University Medical Center-Bergan Mercy, an Omaha police spokesman said Sunday. The driver of another vehicle, R.R, 40, of Omaha, sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Officers were called to the area of I-680 and Blondo Street at 9:46 p.m. for a multiple-vehicle crash. Investigators determined S. was traveling south in the northbound lanes of I-680 without her headlights.
S. narrowly missed colliding with a Nebraska State Patrol trooper, the spokesperson said. She then sideswiped a Chevrolet Cruze before colliding "nearly head-on" with a white Chrysler minivan driven by R."

A security camera recorded the trampling and death of the employee of the Autonomous Water and Sewage Service (SAAE) of São Carlos (SP) Iebel Garcia Silva, 41 years old, this Wednesday morning. He was married and the father of 3 children. The killer, Milton César Magalhães fled the scene and is wanted by the police.
According to SAAE, this is not the first time the employees have fought; In 2014 they were suspended for 30 days after a fight.

The Sknyliv air show disaster occurred on Saturday, 27 July 2002, when a Ukrainian Air Force Sukhoi Su-27UB piloted by Volodymyr Toponar (of the Ukrainian Falcons) and co-piloted by Yuriy Yegorov crashed during an aerobatics presentation at Sknyliv airfield near Lviv, Ukraine. The accident killed 77 people including 28 children and injured 543, 100 of whom were hospitalized.
