An individual allegedly suffering from psychiatric problems committed suicide by throwing himself from the roof of a building in Colón, Matanzas, after murdering his mother and entering an elementary school, where he wounded two people.

According to the report of journalist Iris Quintero Zulueta, of the local TV Yumurí channel, the man was 46 years old and his name was Geovanis Padrón Abreu. He had, she said, "features of schizophrenia from family antecedents".

On her Facebook wall, the reporter said that the events took place in building 33 of Reparto Frank País, on Martorell Street in the city of Matanzas.
