BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — Paraguay's prosecutor of organized crime and drug trafficking cases was slain Tuesday by gunmen on a Colombian beach as he honeymooned with his new wife, who said the attackers came on a jet ski or small boat.
Prosecutor Marcelo Pecci married journalist Claudia Aguilera in April. Aguilera had recently shared photos on social media showing her and Pecci on the Barú peninsula in the Caribbean, south of the Colombian city of Cartagena.
Her final social media posting, hours before the attack, was a photo of herself and her husband with a pair of baby's shoes along with the message: “The best wedding gift ... the approaching life that is a testimony to the sweetest love.”

Four people were killed in Belmont last night.
The deceased have been identified as Brandon Forde, 23, Keeron Moore, 31, Chivon Clarke 26, and Gerard Forde, 56. They were all from the Belmont community.
According to police reports, at about 10:10 pm the group was liming along the roadway at the corner of Smart Place and Belmont Circular Road, when a dark-coloured SUV pulled up alongside the group. Five men exited the vehicle and began shooting at the group.
The suspects then returned to the SUV and the vehicle escaped by driving south along the Belmont Circular Road.
Residents of the area notified the police and paramedics and a group of officers from the Port of Spain Division, the Inter-Agency Task Force, and the Homicide Bureau responded. However, all four men died on the scene.
The bodies were viewed by a district medical officer and ordered removed from the scene. Several spent shells were also recovered.
Police currently have no motive for the killings.

The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Roger Rafael Lopez Hernandez.
Police were told that at 1pm on Saturday, Lopez was with a group of friends who made their way to Kong Fung Chinese Restaurant and Bar in St Julien Village, Princes Town to purchase food.
Whilst, there four men all of whom appeared to be of Spanish descent entered the establishment and accosted Hernandez and an argument ensued, which escalated into a fight.
During the ordeal, one of the suspects pulled out a firearm and shot the victim. The suspects then fled the scene.
The police were notified and a team of officers led by Insp Mohammed, Sgt Smith, Sgt Nanan, and Sgt Barran, among others, responded.
However, Lopez succumbed to his injuries.

The footage depicts a young man carrying his daughter on his shoulder when suddenly an armed assailant approaches and shoots him in the head at close range. After the attack, the two culprits, who were waiting on a motorcycle, flee the scene.
This incident took place late on Sunday night in the Babuzai area under the Chauk PS jurisdiction. The sound of the gunshot alerted the victim's family members, who rushed outside. Chaos ensued at the scene, and the severely injured young man was promptly taken to the hospital. His condition remains critical. Thankfully, the child is safe, having suffered only minor injuries.
Based on the written complaint, the police have registered a report against three suspects, including the alleged shooter, Tarik. Two of the accused have been apprehended, while efforts are underway to locate the third. It has been revealed that the accused shooter's brother was initially engaged to the same woman who later married the victim. However, their engagement was called off, which infuriated the shooter. Feeling humiliated by the broken engagement, he orchestrated this incident as an act of revenge.

Shoaib's uncle provided a statement at the police station, revealing that Shoaib had married Chandni approximately three years ago. Prior to this marriage, Chandni had been engaged to Tariq's brother, who resided in the neighboring Vol area of the Mohalle.
Due to various reasons, Shoaib's parents decided against marrying Chandni to Tariq's brother and instead chose Shoaib. This decision deeply wounded Tariq's pride, considering it an affront to him and his family. Tariq had expressed intentions of seeking revenge for the perceived humiliation multiple times within the community.

Pilson Pereira da Silva and Rui Luiz Bogo were shot dead this Sunday afternoon (21), in Peixoto de Azevedo. The city's priest, J.R.D.,45, was shot and remains under medical care. The group was at a party when 2 criminals invaded the place, shooting indiscriminately. The criminals were identified as mother and son.
According to the incident report, investigators were called by the Military Police to attend the scene where a double homicide had occurred. At the address, agents were informed that there were two people dead in the house and one injured in the hospital.
Witnesses reported that it was a birthday party when the shooters arrived and fired their weapons at the guests. In audio attributed to the priest, it is reported that everyone ran when they saw the invaders. The religious man took refuge behind a sofa and one of the shots went through the protection. The bullet “ricocheted” hitting the watch he was wearing.
“I was saved first by the will of God. It bounced off the watch and that's what saved me, otherwise it would have killed me”, he narrated. There is still no information about the motivation for the murders. The suspects are Inês Gemilaki and Bruno Gemilaki Dal Poz.

This morning, a tragic event occurred in the Barranco district, in Lima. A 24-year-old young man, Antonio Fregero, was brutally murdered inside the 'Casa Bulbo' bar.
According to police, the event took place around 2:00 a.m. when Fregero sought refuge in the premises upon recognizing his attackers. The Police reported that the victim was shot nine times, while three people were injured and were rushed to the Casimiro Ulloa Hospital.
The establishment's security cameras captured the hitmen fleeing towards the Jirón Manuel Segura, where a luxury van was waiting for them. Six bullet casings were found at the scene, indicating that the attackers fired at least 17 times.
The Police consider the possibility of a confrontation between criminal groups as the reason for this violent attack.
