Holmes was a former IT worker and decorator from Poole in Dorset. He had no military experience before travelling to Syria in January 2015, shortly after he turned 22. Holmes did three tours of northern Syria with the YPG and featured regularly in international media about foreign fighters with Kurdish-led forces, including the Channel 4 documentary 'Frontline Fighting: The Brits Battling ISIS'. His death came four days after the Syrian Democratic Forces declared the liberation of Raqqa.

In a Q&A on Facebook on 4 October 2017, Holmes said his reason for travelling to Syria was "Because I was sick of seeing what was going on in Syria, and western nations not doing enough to help"

Josh Walker, another British volunteer with the YPG who was cleared of terrorism charges after returning from fighting in Syria, said Holmes was "A good fighter dedicated to the cause, he learned & spoke the language well - which is unusual in foreign fighters. Holmes took the Kurdish nom-de-guerre Sores Amanos. 'Sores' means 'revolution' in Kurdish. He was one of the longest serving U.K. foreign fighters when he died.

During the battle for Raqqa, he commanded the four-man 223 YPG Sniper Unit which was made up of international volunteers from Spain, the US and Germany but grew as time passed.

Holmes was killed on 23 October by an IED in Raqqa. He was the sixth British volunteer to be killed while fighting ISIL in Syria.

Hundreds of mourners gathered in Dorset on Friday 2 February 2018 to attend Holmes' funeral. "About 500 people, including family members, friends, British Kurds, the parents of other British men to have died in Syria and about 30 former YPG comrades from across the world" attended the service in Wimborne to pay tribute to Holmes, according to The Guardian. His coffin was covered with flowers in the colours of the YPG and the YPG commander Nuri Mahmud spoke via Skype from Syria to offer his personal condolences and to commend Jac for his contribution to the eradication of ISIS in Raqqa. Following the service, his coffin was taken to Poole Crematorium.

Two people are dead and four more injured after a shooting early Sunday morning at Market Square as Fiesta was winding down, according to San Antonio police.

In a 2 a.m. tweet, San Antonio Police Department Chief William McManus said two suspects who fired shots at each other at Market Square had died and four other people received non-life threatening injuries. A pair of SAPD officers who fired on the suspects are uninjured, he said.

An SAPD spokesperson told TV station KSAT that two of the injured people were taken to area medical facilities, while the other two were examined and released at the scene.

Witnesses said the incident took place after two young men opened at Market Square's Fiesta celebration, according to KSAT. However, police hadn't yet provided more details at that time.

AUD is considered a brain disorder that can be diagnosed as mild, moderate and severe. Luckily, with help of therapists and clinics, you can fight this disorder!

Symptoms of AUD

Treatment of AUD

There are some medications that can also be used to help people stop or reduce their drinking habits. The most common ones are naltrexone (oral and long-acting injectable), acamprosate, and disulfiram. These are also the only ones approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

A violent attack alarmed the citizens who live on 47th and Rosendo Avilés streets, in the Suburbio Battalion, in Guayaquil.

Around 10:00 p.m. this Saturday, April 27, three subjects arrived in a gray vehicle; Two of them suddenly got out and fired short and long weapons at a group of young people.

Police presume that the seven men murdered in Petrillo participated in criminal activities and were ambushed

At the time of the attack, the victims were talking outside a two-story house, which had a white bar enclosure. In the middle of the exchange of gunfire, the victims tried to enter the house, but the projectiles hit them.
