March 2021 – Video footage has captured the tragic moment when students thronging the fourth floor balcony of a university in Bolivia plummeted to their deaths after the railing gave way.
Seven students were killed and five others injured at the Public University of El Alto, second-largest city in Bolivia. The incident occurred as dozens of students crammed onto the balcony to enter a lecture hall for an assembly on Tuesday.

_The disturbing video footage, captured by a bystander moment before the students fell, shows them jostling while leaning against the railing which collapsed due to the pressure of the crowd. A number of them then went crashing down to the concrete floor while a few were pulled up by those still on the balcony.
A student in blue jacket was saved by other students as she dangled upside down as her colleagues grab her shoes to rescue her.
The cause of death was identified as “multiple defenestration trauma,” Bolivian police chief Colonel Jhonny Aguilera told reporters.
_An investigation has been ordered into the incident and the woman who was rescued would be questioned to find details.
Those dead and injured are aged between 20 to 27.
“From this accident, seven have died and five are in a critical state, some of them stabilised,” health minister Jayson Auza said.
“Our deepest condolences to the people of El Alto and to the suffering families. We await the prompt clarification of the facts,” Bolivian President Luis Arce said on Twitter.
According to Bolivia's Special Force to Fight Crime, the students who lost their lives were identified as Raúl Cadena, Genio Mamani, Saúl Mamani, Daniel Rodríguez, Anahí Chipana, Loida Sosa and Tania Roque.
The bodies have been handed over to the families without delay for last rights, the police said.

Franz Karl Reichelt(16 October 1878 - 4 February 1912), also known as Henry Fancois Reichelt after his French naturalization, was an Austro-Hungarian-born French tailor, inventor and parachuting pioneer, now sometimes referred to as the Flying Tailor, who is remembered for jumping to his death from the Eiffel Tower while testing a wearable parachute/wing suit of which he designed. Reichelt had become fixated on developing a suit for aviators that would convert into a parachute and allow them to survive a fall should they be forced to leave their air craft in mid air.
Although he created and experimented with multiple prototypes of wings and parachute suits over the years, they were for the most part failures, to the point that it was a big concentration between newspapers after his death whether or not any of his designs were ever even functional.
Reichelt petitioned repeatedly to the Paris Police Prefecture for permission to conduct a test from the Eiffel Tower. He finally received permission in 1912 and quickly announced to the press that he had finally received permission and would shortly conduct and experiment from the Eiffel Tower to prove the value of his invention.
Sunday, February 4th at 7:00 am, Reichelt pulled up to the tower in a car with two friends, already wearing the suit. He modeled the invention in its folded form for the news. Le Gaullist described as "only a little more voluminous than ordinary clothing."
He was trying to invent a parachute wing suit of sort. After bickering the vity police to run a test off of the Eiffel Tower, they said he could do it from the towers first floor. Thje police thought he was just going to use a dummy, they didn't think he would be the one jumping. He was trying to make a "flying parachute suit" (basically a wing suit)
His last words were: "À bientôt" (see you soon)
He did mulitple tests both from lower heights and from the same height with a mannequin, none of which were successful but he was convinced that if he were the one to jump it would somehow work.
Pretty much all of his friends and a guard told him numerous times not to do it before and during the whole event, but this mf really wanted to die. His response to them was "I want to try the experiment myself and without trickery, as I intend to prove the worth of my invention."
The 33-year-old Austrian-born tailor and inventor plunged into frozen soil and died instantly after the canopy failed to open in time when he leaped from the 187ft-high first platform.
Some police officers were present to maintain order, as the Paris Police Prefecture had given Reichelt permisson to proceed.
After his death , Louis Lepine, who, as the Prefect of Police, was ultimately responsible for the permission being granted, issued a statement making it clear that while the police routinely gave permission for experiments to performed from the Eiffel Tower, it was understood in these cases that dummies would be used. They had given permission in Reichelt's case only on the basis that he would be conducting dummy drops, and that under no circumstances would they have allowed him to proceed if they had known he would be making the jump himself. Lépine assured the press that he had never signed an order that allowed a live jump.
After the jump the crate left by Reichelt was 15 centimeters or 5.9 inches.
The newspaper the next day was filled with the story of Fran's Reichelt and his "Tragic Experiment" along with photographs of the incident. The film of his attempt was also distributed by new organizations.

What I find interesting about this is he would most likely be praised today as a "crazy eccentric inventor" who risked his life for his craft, if it had worked, but no he's just a dumb dead dude.

A Russian woman died in Gagra after falling off an observation deck, the Abkhazian Emergencies Ministry said."Polenko Inessa Valeryevna Polenko,1984 year of birth, who came from Sochi, fell from more than 50-meter height on the 18th km of the highway Ubykhov," the publication said.
The rescuers lifted the victim up and handed her over to ambulance doctors. The woman died in the intensive care unit, the agency added.

The fiasco occurred on October 12 after Melike Gun Kanavuzlar, 15, dropped her device while on a building in a town called Ortaca in Mugla Province, Western Turkey, local media reported. When the teen tried to recover it, she lost her balance and fell four stories onto the pavement below.
The distressing 11-second clip, captured via security cameras on neighboring buildings, starts off with a bystander strolling the sidewalk outside the building.
All of a sudden, they venture out from under the building's awning, whereupon Kanavuzlar's body hits the concrete next to them with a sickening thud.
The teen was subsequently rushed to a state hospital in critical condition, before being transferred to an Intensive Care Unit in the city of Mugla in southwestern Turkey, Newsflash reported. She hung on for a staggering 18 days before succumbing to her injuries.
Kanavuzlar was buried on October 30.

A 14-year-old boy visiting from Missouri fell to his death late at night from a 430-foot-tall thrill ride at an amusement park ride along a busy street in the heart of Orlando's tourist district, officials said Friday.
Sheriff's officials and emergency crews responded to a call late Thursday at Icon Park, which is located in the city's tourist district along International Drive. The boy fell from the Orlando Free Fall ride, which opened late last year.
Orange County Sheriff John Mina on Friday identified the teen as Tyre Sampson, who was visiting central Florida from Missouri with a friend's family. Detectives investigating the death will look into whether it was intentional or accidental, the sheriff said.
"It appears to be just a terrible tragedy," Mina said. "We will see moving forward what that results in."
Sampson was taken to a hospital, where he died, sheriff's officials said. No additional details about the teen or the incident were immediately released.
The Free Fall ride and an adjacent ride, the Sling Shot, have been closed indefinitely, Stine said. His company operates the two rides at Icon Park.

Here, while climbing the escalator, a one and a half year old child slipped and fell from his father's lap from the third floor. The child died tragically in this accident.
