A video making the rounds on social media captures the moment a man got killed while testing a bulletproof charm with his friends.

They had bragged about the potency of the fetish item and decided to test the efficacy using a local hunter's rifle.

The guy who owned the charm had reportedly said that it was so powerful that if someone holds him while he is with the bullet proof juju and they are shot, both of them would walk away unscathed.

In the video the young man who held the juju asked his friend to shoot him while he held another person. But it unfortunately ended in the killing of his friend, causing panic and frenzy.

The Ondo State Police Command arrested a man simply identified as Bode for allegedly killing his friend, one Tunde Akinmoyewa with a locally made gun.

He was said to have shot dead his friend while testing a new bulletproof charm in Laoso Village in Ondo West Local Government Area of the state.

Police said on Friday, August 4 that it had begun the trial of the suspect over the murder of the 27-year-old victim, who was described as an ex-convict.

Tragedy struck in Laoso camp, in Ondo town, Ondo State, as a son of a traditionalist, identified as Tunde Akinmoyewa, was shot dead by his friend, Bode, while testing the potency of a charm placed on him. Police in the state said that the deceased was an ex-convict and cult member while the suspected killer was also a cultist.

Reports had it that the friends were trying to fortify themselves ahead of the yearly Ogun festival in the town.

Saturday Vanguard gathered that, his friend was asked to test the potency of the charm put on the victim with a dane gun.

An eyewitness account said that,“ it was unbelievable, because, such charms had never failed before. But this very day, this particular one failed and caused the death of the 27 year old son of a traditionalist in the camp. It was around 6:45 pm at the Laoso camp in Ondo West Local Government Area of the state, when a friend of Tunde, volunteered to test the charm on him after drinking some “bullet-repelling' concoction.

“A native doctor, who reportedly prepared the charm had assured them that they could not die from gunshots. To test the potency of the charm, Tunde was said to have told his friend to shoot him first.

Immediately Tunde's friend fired the dane gun at him, he fell and died instantly. He was confirmed dead at the hospital where he was rushed to by other people at the scene. The friend, after the ugly incident fled before the villagers arrived the scene.”

Contacted, spokesperson of the state police command, Funmi Odunlami, said the victim was an ex convict and cult member. Odunlami added that the suspect, who shot the victim, was one of the boys of the deceased.

According to her, “they were testing a locally made gun believed to be newly procured. He was shot and he died while being taken to the hospital for medical attention.”

An Assistant Police Sub-Inspector (ASI) deployed at Gate No. 3 in PAP, reportedly lost his life in a firing incident. A gunshot was heard late on Wednesday evening on the PAP campus, after which heavy police force rushed to the spot.

As per reports, the bullet was shot in the eye of the ASI, who died on the spot. The deceased cop has been identified as Sub-inspector Paramjit Singh (57), a resident of Adampur. He was presently residing at the PAP quarters only with his family including his wife and a son.

Sources said the bullet was fired from the ASI's Carbine Gun when he was on duty at gate number 3.

SHO Cantt police station, Inspector, Azaib Singh, said it is yet to ascertain as to how the gunshot was fired. The deceased died on the spot after a bullet was misfired from the carbine gun of the deceased cop. The bullet pierced through the right eye of the cop and he died on the spot. The police were investigating the matter, SHO added.

Senior cops including; IG SK Kalia, Commandent Manjit Singh Dhesi and ACP Cantt Major Singh reached the spot. The deceased cop was posted as Sub-Inspector in PAP 27 Battalion.
