It just feels pointless to me. But I don't like WPD content in general, so I'm not the best judge of this sort of thing. And that's where you degenerates come in.

This is not a binding poll. This is just sourcing community thoughts.

A worker was killed and six others injured after a mechanical fault in the melting shop of a steel mill caused molten metal to fall on them and also triggered a fire, in Gujarat's Kutch district on Sunday. This is the second similar incident in the state in around three weeks. The police said the injured workers are undergoing treatment in hospitals in Kutch and Ahmedabad.

The deceased has been identified as Surendrapal Daduram Lodh, 21, while the injured are Vijay Kumar, Raviram, Pushpendra Kumar, Dipak Kumar, Amit Kumar and Raj Kumar. They hail from Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. A case of accidental death has been registered at Dudhai police station and an inquiry initiated, officers said.

The incident occurred when the steel melting shop of Kemo Steel Industries Private Limited (KSIPL) in Budhamora village, Anjar taluka developed a mechanical fault and hot molten steel started overflowing from a bucket in the shop at 3.45 am on Sunday, officers of the Dudhai police station said. “Molten steel started spilling out of the furnace, leading to a fire. Seven workers who were near the furnace suffered burn injuries,” an officer of Dudhai police station told The Indian Express.

“The workers with burn wounds were initially rushed to Divine Life Hospital in Adipur near Gandhidham. Later, four seriously injured workers, including Lodh were shifted to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (SVP) Hospital in Ahmedabad and the others were taken to a private hospital in Kutch. Lodh succumbed to his injuries at 6.50 pm on Sunday at SVP Hospital,” an officer said.

“The hot metal splashed on the workers and led to burn injuries. The accident also led to a fire in the factory,” said Police Sub-Inspector M M Zala, in-charge of Dudhai police station. He said those under treatment in Kutch are out of danger while the condition of the workers shifted to Ahmedabad is critical.

The KSIPL plant in Budhamora manufactures Thermo-Mechanically Treated (TMT) bars. The plant has an integrated manufacturing process, beginning with melting iron ore into steel in the steel melting shop, casting the molten steel into billets and then processing the billets into TMT bars. The firm could not be reached for comment.

On December 28, two workers were killed and three others injured when hot metal splashed on them from a bucket in the melting shop of Rudra Global Infra Products Limited (RGIPL) in Bhavnagar district's Sihor.

CHILD WARNING Driver runs over a kid (+info in bio)

A truck driver uses sand and gravel to cover up blood traces at the site where he ran over a 16-month-old boy in Nghe An Province, Vietnam, April 22, 2020. Driver was eventually arrested.

The accident occurred in the coastal village of Quynh Phuong in Hoang Mai Town of Nghe An on Wednesday last week.

On the morning of that day, the victim's parents took their son to his grandparents' house so that someone would take care of the boy while they helped process seafood there.

Since the boy was later nowhere to be seen, his family members rushed to find him.

Upon inspecting footage from a neighbor's surveillance camera, the family found that the toddler, who was playing on a road less than three meters wide in front of their house at 9:15 am, was run over by a truck carrying construction materials.

The driver, later identified as 33-year-old local Nguyen Van V., was filmed carrying the boy's body to another site and used sand and gravel to cover up blood marks on the road.

It only took him one minute to finish hushing up what had happened and drive away.

V., who was recognized by the boy's family, was questioned about the boy's whereabouts and he denied allegations against him. At the time, he even joined the family's search for the missing toddler.

However, the family was able to follow the traces of blood left at the scene and discovered the boy's body buried in a pit at a construction site adjacent to their house.

Local police officers were present at the time of the finding and arrested the truck driver on the spot.

“My grandkid was way too young and was just learning to walk. He was such an innocent child,” Th., the grandfather of the deceased, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper.

Manslaughter resulting in one death is punishable by one to five years behind bars, according to the 2015 Penal Code of Vietnam.

CHILD WARNING disappearance of the Beaumont children in 1966

The Disappearance

  • On the morning of January 26, 1966, the three Beaumont children - Jane (9), Arnna (7), and Grant (4) - asked their mother if they could go to the beach at Glenelg, a popular seaside suburb of Adelaide. She gave them permission, as the children often went to the beach on their own.

The Disappearance:

  • The children were last seen by a witness around 10am, playing on the beach near the jetty. They were expected home for lunch, but never returned.

  • When the children did not come home, their parents contacted the police. An extensive search of the beach and surrounding areas found no trace of the Beaumont siblings.

The Investigation:

  • Police conducted one of the largest search operations in Australian history at the time, involving thousands of volunteers. However, no clues or evidence was uncovered about what happened to the children.

  • Numerous suspects were investigated over the years, including known pedophiles and murderers, but no concrete links were ever established.

1. Frederick Davies

Davies was a known pedophile who lived near the Glenelg beach where the children disappeared. He was questioned extensively but never charged due to lack of evidence.

2. Alan Mann

Mann was a drifter and petty criminal who was suspected due to his proximity to the area at the time. He was ruled out as a suspect after providing an alibi.

3. Vincent O'Sullivan

O'Sullivan was a former mental patient who confessed to the Beaumont children's murders years later, but his confession was deemed unreliable and he was never charged.

4. Bevan Spencer von Einem

von Einem was convicted of murdering another child, and was suspected by some in the Beaumont case due to his criminal history. However, no direct evidence linked him to the 1966 disappearance.

5. The "Somerton Man"

This unidentified man was found dead on Somerton Beach in 1948, and some theorists speculated he may have been connected to the Beaumont case, but there was no evidence to support this.

6. A Military Serviceman

Investigators explored the possibility that a military serviceman stationed in Adelaide at the time may have been involved, but no definitive suspect was ever identified.

Theories:

1. Abduction by a Stranger

This is the most widely accepted theory - that the children were abducted by an unknown individual or individuals while playing on the beach. Witnesses reported seeing the children talking to a man, though descriptions were vague.

2. Involvement of a Family Member

Some have speculated that a family member may have been involved in the children's disappearance, either accidentally or intentionally. However, there was no evidence to support this, and the parents were firmly ruled out as suspects.

3. Accidental Drowning

Another theory is that the children may have accidentally drowned in the ocean while playing at the beach. However, the lack of any recovered bodies or evidence makes this scenario unlikely.

4. Planned Runaway

Some investigators have theorized that the children may have planned to run away together, perhaps due to parental issues or a desire for adventure. However, this does not align with witness accounts and the children's young ages.

5. Abduction by a Pedophile Ring

In the years after the disappearance, there were allegations that the children may have been abducted by a pedophile ring operating in the area. However, these claims were largely unsubstantiated.

6. Government Coverup

More far-fetched theories have suggested the involvement of government agencies or officials in a coverup of the children's fate. But there is no credible evidence to support these conspiracy theories.

the parents of the Beaumont children were never seriously considered suspects in the investigation.some more detail on their involvement and the handling of the parents in this case:

  • Jim and Nancy Beaumont were intensely cooperative with the police investigation from the very beginning. They provided detailed accounts of the children's activities and whereabouts leading up to their disappearance.

  • Extensive searches were conducted at the family's home and property, but no evidence was ever found to implicate the parents in any wrongdoing.

  • Polygraph tests were administered to both Jim and Nancy Beaumont, and they passed without issue. This helped eliminate them as potential suspects.

  • Investigators thoroughly examined the Beaumont family's background, relationships, and finances, and found no motive or indication that the parents were involved in the children's disappearance.

  • Over the years, the Beaumont parents continued to assist police and actively search for their missing children. They were devastated by the loss and never stopped trying to find answers.

  • Both Jim and Nancy Beaumont passed away in the decades after the children vanished, without ever learning what happened to them or finding closure.

The police and public consensus was that the Beaumont parents were simply unfortunate victims in this tragic case, rather than potential suspects. Their torment and distress over the fate of their three young children was evident throughout the investigation.

Without any direct evidence linking the parents to the disappearance, they were cleared as suspects and the focus remained on identifying an unknown abductor or other perpetrator.

The Aftermath:

  • The disappearance of the Beaumont children devastated the local community and became a national tragedy.

  • The children's parents, Jim and Nancy Beaumont, spent the rest of their lives searching for answers and closure, but died without ever knowing what happened to their kids.

  • The case has been reinvestigated multiple times over the decades, but no significant new leads have emerged. It remains one of Australia's most perplexing and unsettling unsolved mysteries.
