A story with a tragic ending

A sad story with a tragic ending. A young girl decided to combine swimming with taking some drugs. The result was predictable – drowning. When they did the autopsy, they found two interesting signs.

First, Ulrich's sign: a large hemorrhage in the middle ear cavity and the bony ear canal. What does this mean? It's simple – a sudden dive to a great depth.

Second, Moro's sign: a small amount of fluid in the abdominal cavity. This confirms that the body was really in the water. It appears after being in the water for 6-8 hours.

Drunken fight in some dive

Imagine a scene: a drunken fight in some dive. Our hero, let's call him Vasya, decided to show off his intellect and wit. But, unfortunately, his opponent didn't appreciate the humor and used a knife – the stab hit the area of the carotid artery. Then everything was like in a cheap action movie: blood gushing like from a fire hose, Vasya screaming, people panicking and running away. In the end, Vasya died, and his attacker went to prison.

The moral of this story is: talk less, think more. Learn from others' mistakes. Don't get into fights, don't drink until you pass out, and avoid shady characters. You only have one life, and losing it over a drunken fight is ridiculous. And if you do get into trouble, call an ambulance and the police right away. They might still save you.

A patient was shot in the right hemisphere of the brain with a bullet from a pistol. The wound was fatal, and the person died after three days.

The brain section clearly shows the bullet's trajectory: it passed through the hemisphere, leaving a path of destruction.

Such injuries are always very dangerous, even if a non-lethal weapon was used. It is almost impossible to predict the bullet's trajectory inside the skull.

Gangrene :marseyexciteddance:

A few days ago, I was cleaning up and found something on my computer that happened last winter. Even though it's already May, I know like Ned Stark that 'winter is coming.'

So, my colleague and I are sorting 14 fingers: 9 from hands, 5 from a foot. All of them are the result of some 'fun' drinking sessions.

How did this happen, you ask? It's simple. You drink, you get cold. Your brain doesn't work well. Blood vessels narrow, blood stops circulating, your limbs freeze, and then... gangrene and no more fingers. Cold and alcohol together are very dangerous.

What does this story teach?

It teaches that drinking outside in winter is a bad idea. If you want to drink, go home and eat properly. Otherwise, you'll lose your fingers, or maybe even more. But that's another story... :marseycutwrist:

Lividity: A Beginner's Guide :marseymoidteach:

Lividity: A Beginner's Guide :marseycountry:

Hello from the world of the dead! Let me share an interesting topic with you – lividity. For those who don't know, lividity is the "bruises" that appear on dead bodies.

Imagine that after a person's heart stops beating, their blood no longer moves through the veins. Instead, it collects in the lower parts of the body due to gravity. This causes the skin to show these marks.

These marks are not just a dark decoration but an important tool for forensic experts. Their color can vary from purple to greenish-brown. They can help determine the time of death, the position of the body, and the presence of poisons.

The more and darker the marks, the longer the person has been dead. The density of the marks also changes over time: first, they are soft, then they become firm, and later they soften again.

Remember, kids: lividity is not something to panic about, but just a part of the natural process. :marseydead:

Killer bug

An 18-year-old guy. He's burning up like a stove for a few days. Of course, the doctors put him in the hospital. But then – bam! – a cough, and a few hours later he dies. The family, naturally, immediately blamed the doctor, saying he killed the guy. But the autopsy showed something else: there was a BUG found at the entrance of the larynx! And not just any bug, but a real killer bug! This thing lives in tropical Asia.

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy :marseyxi:

Imagine you are experiencing intense emotional stress, such as the loss of a loved one. In this moment, your body is overwhelmed by a storm of hormones. Suddenly, like a bolt from the blue, you are struck by sharp chest pain, shortness of breath, and dizziness.

This might be Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, also known as stress cardiomyopathy or "broken heart syndrome."

What is happening?

Instead of pumping blood throughout the body, the left ventricle of the heart (also called the "pump") suddenly weakens. It starts to resemble a balloon inflated on one side.

Why does this happen?

The exact cause is not fully understood. But it is believed that a sudden surge of stress hormones (adrenaline, noradrenaline) stuns the heart, disrupting its function.

Remember: Takotsubo cardiomyopathy is a serious condition, but with timely help, it can be treated.

Don't ignore your body's signals, take care of yourself and your loved ones

Do you think drugs are cool?

Do you think drugs are cool? Like, they expand your mind, help you relax, give you unforgettable sensations? Yeah, right. Let me tell you what really happens.

First, your body turns into a garbage dump. Your liver, kidneys, heart, brain - all of it gets wrecked. You become a walking bioreactor that produces only pain, suffering, and a bunch of diseases.

Second, your psyche goes to hell. You start seeing green men, hearing voices in your head. In short, you become completely irrational.

Third, your life goes down the drain. Work, family, friends - none of it matters anymore. You turn into a societal outcast, despised by everyone.

So, if you think drugs are fun and harmless, you are deeply mistaken. It's a direct path to self-destruction, degradation, and death. Those in doubt can look at the photos - the result of using illegal substances.

The anatomical snuffbox :marseyandjesus:

The anatomical snuffbox (fovea radialis) is a triangle-shaped hollow on the back of the wrist. It is made between the tendons of the thumb extenders and the long abductor muscle. In the past, it was used for sniffing tobacco, which is why it has this name.It is important in medical practice because it is used for some medical procedures, like giving injections in this area or taking blood samples. This hollow provides access to certain blood vessels and nerves, making it a good place for these actions. The radial artery goes through the anatomical snuffbox, covered only by skin in this area, so it is easy to feel its pulse.

I was trying to eat an avocado and while attempting to remove the pit, the knife I was using slipped and went through the avocado, and through a part of my hand.

The doctors had a hard time believing me and one of them thought I was pretty stupid (I agree but still), and they had a harder time believing it didn't hurt much.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/1715917368503798.webp Unwrapped from the first aid I did.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/1715917368627774.webp After soaking for a few minutes in water and iodine. Stung like shit when I first put it in then stopped hurting all together after a few minutes.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17159173688274863.webp I had to go to the bathroom after sitting there with my hand in the iodine bath for over an hour and instead of one of the nurses wrapping it up so I could go, one of them just took my hand out and tossed a rag to me and then said nothing, so I just had to sit there bleeding everywhere.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17159173702544308.webp A different nurse wrapped it for me after 15-30 minutes so I could go, then I waited another 30 minutes to get it stitched. I look like a burn victim with the way they wrapped it.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17159173737642894.webp They cleaned it again with iodine and saline before finally stitching it.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17159173739789076.webp Middle of getting it stitched.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/1715917374484586.webp Four stitches in total.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17159173747071958.webp Final wrapping and ready to go.

Some of the paperwork they gave me telling me everything that happened and care instructions and advice:

Extra photos of me:

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/171591737631046.webp Soaking hand in a mixture of warm water and iodine.

I just wanted to eat a fucking avocado, this shit hurts like hell now. I was in the hospital for almost four hours. I have to keep the wrapping on for two days and I have to leave the stitches in for two weeks. Luckily the nurses doing the stitches said I can have anyone I know who is a certified nurse take them out for me at home, and I know at least four people who are, including my mom and roommate, so after the two weeks are over I can get the stitches out without having to go back to the hospital.
