Mocking The Dead (especially the stupid ones): Why Not?

Humor is a good way off letting off steam so i vote yes, make fun of the stupid people and learn your own lessons from them.

I don't think any relatives of the dead will search this kind off sites so np there as far as i see.

You can tell the difference between someone who was just unlucky and someone who was asking for it. There are concequences for being stupid, and for being a bad person. I don't think people on this site make fun of like, suicide victims. I mean, some edgelords are gonna make fun of people no matter how they died, but overall I think its better to make light of the stupid people who die and deaths in general, rather than having this site be full of stone faced snowflakes.

It's not like the people in the videos care. They're fuckin dead. If I die in some retarded fashion and wind up in this site I give you all permission to call me a retard. You can even sexualize my dead body if you're feeling frisky.

No one is immune from criticism, mockery or contempt.

It’s ok to joke about anything or anyone as long as you are funny, and even if you are not, you should be free to try.

The only people these days who get upset over those kinds of things are leftists who equate speech they don’t like with violence.

i personally won't do it, but as long as they're not mocking the family or have genuine ill will towards the victim, there's nothing egregious about it -- humor's a way of coping, and as long as it doesn't get this site taken down or cause harm to the people directly involved, i'd say it's fair game. we're on this site to watch people die in vicious ways for our entertainment -- we can't moralize things like humor without being hypocrites.

They’re dead and they don’t exist anymore. No one has the right to care if we laugh at their stupidity. In fact if they would be angry at people for laughing at them when they’re dead, they would deserve it for being retarded. However let’s not laugh at the non-idiots cuz that’s edgy which is meh

I'm kinda gonna go a bit deeper here and say that i don't actually see what is wrong with 'desecrating the dead', say those videos of morticians fucking around with the bodies and what not, isn't it the same shit as us talking shit about the dead person? we can use every single argument we use for why it's okay to make fun of dead bodies to why its okay to fuck around with them. (person is dead, he cant be offended, its the family's fault for looking up videos of their relative, etc, etc)

I'm all for it. I think it helps us cope with the trauma of reality and what can happen to any of us at any time.

the only harm being done could be families seeing their loved one being mocked after being killed, but that's on them for searching out videos of their loved one dying. Nothing really morally wrong for doing it seeing as they're dead and can't themselves be harmed from being mocked.

Personally, if someone died doing something stupid, or for being an absolute asshole (like the guy that came out of the car with a bat, hit a vehicule with it and got shot), then I don't really mind about it. However I do feel bad when it's something stupid, but innocent, such as an old lady dying due a honest mistake for someone of her age.

Humor is fine. I think it is even needed in order to take the sting from the more dramatic aspects of life. As far as "mocking" is concerned, I guess it depends from the specific case. Sometimes people act so stupid that it's impossible not to mock them, at other times allowance can be made for errors of judgement and even stupidity on their part. But I don't like playing the moral police, so if some usere are willing to cross the lines I draw for myself I'm fine with that

There isn't anything wrong but the comments should at least be witty or make sense. I've seen the comments on other gore sites and they're disgusting not because they're making fun of dead people but because they have the quality of pornhub comments

I also try to avoid making comments like that personally (hasn't stopped me entirely) just so I don't become too desensitized. Some videos are harder to emotionally detach from than others and those are the ones that feel weird seeing jokes on.

I don't laugh at all deaths, but some of them are stupid funny. If I personally know and like the person who died, I definitely won't or can't laugh. Grieving emotions would take over any other feelings. If I die funny and someone posts it here, please laugh!

I usually do laugh when some idiot does something that can clearly get them killed and (surprise) gets killed. But from time to time i realize what im doing and feel kinda bad, it feels like im 'objectifying' someone's tragic death for a few seconds of enjoyment. Ultimately im not sure myself

I think humor is an important part of processing death, sometimes it can be funny. Not saying ALL of the humor on here is good to me, but to each their own.

I think it’s fine. It was certainly fine to mock them in life right? Death is literally the only universal human constant. None of us are permanent things.

Humor is currently best defined as connecting two unrelated scenarios with a punchline (ex. Oh you like jogging alone in the mornings? I like jogging alone in the mornings too, let’s jog alone together!)

With this basis, if the punchline/comment stated is connecting two seemingly unrelated patterns, it would be considered funny. Understanding this allows you to better determine whether something is funny or not. There are tiers and the lowest of tiers include poor lines regarding the primitive nature of man (ex. One liner sex and/or racist jokes)

Ultimately we should be allowed to make jokes, but there are some videos and some people who are just unfunny. Their attempt to make a joke comes across poorly, pay no mind to these people for they lack awareness. Watch out for people who know what they’re saying with hidden malice for they are equipped with greater cerebral capacity.
