Only the driver and one passenger survived. 7 people have died.

While arranging drinks in a refrigerator, Leonardo, a 17-year-old boy who worked in a grocery store was killed by a hitman who entered the business located in "El Pedregal" located in Santa Julia neighborhood, which had been required months ago to collect a floor [TL note: "cobro de piso" is basically extortion where you pay gangs to "protect" your building].

The homicide was recorded before 3:00 in the afternoon today, Monday, May 6, at Abarrotes 'El Pedregal', located on Ernesto Riedel Street in the neighborhood belonging to the San Antonio de los Buenos municipal delegation.

Leonardo, who just a few days ago had turned 17, lost his life almost instantly, when he was shot in the back.

Municipal police who responded to the report indicated that next to the teenager, at least three 9 millimeter caliber shell casings were observed.

According to Leonardo's relatives, he had been working in the grocery store for two years, an activity that he combined with his studies.

Former police officer and acting councilor Erasmo Morais (PL) was murdered with rifle shots this Tuesday morning (7), in Crato, in the Cariri Region. No one was arrested.

According to the Military Police, the crime occurred around 11 am in Bairro Mirandão, close to the councilor's residence. Witnesses told police that two men in a white pickup truck fired the shots.

Erasmus would have been shot more than 10 times. The team of experts who went to the scene counted 47 capsules (36 from rifles and 11 from pistols) scattered across the floor.

A resident spoke to TV Verdes Mares and said she heard several shots. "When I left, he was already dead and the suspects were no longer there. He [councilman] was going to pick up his autistic son from school and was killed when he was leaving home," she said.

Erasmo Morais took office as a substitute and was a pre-candidate for councilor in this year's elections in Crato. Military Police teams searched the region with the aim of arresting the suspects.

The Crato City Council lamented the death in a statement. "In this moment of pain, we express our most sincere condolences to family and friends. May they find comfort and serenity to face this irreparable loss."

The Liberal Party in Ceará (PL Ceará) also issued a statement lamenting the death. "The cruelty of the crime committed against the parliamentarian is astonishing and unfortunately even more terrible for having occurred in front of his young son," said the party.
